First amendment audit of the US Court of Appeals 9th Dist
Filmed on 12-27-2018 this is a first amendment of the:
United States Court of Appeals for the 9th District
1010 5th Ave.
Seattle WA, 98104
Clerks Office: (206) 224-2200
The William Kenzo Nakamura Courthouse was constructed in 1939 with funding for the building having been approved by Congress in 1936 as part of the “The New Deal” instituted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The building has just been renovated so I wanted to go inside and take a look around.
US Marshals Service
The Court Security Officers are under the direction of the US Marshals service
Phone: (206) 370-8600
When I contacted the Marshals service to file a complaint I spoke with CSO supervisor Donrian Stephens [Phone: (206) 305-9792 ] who was not interested in taking a complaint and only wanted to cover CSO Slaters ass. Stephens kept telling me there was a federal statute that stated media needed permission and to give two days notice before filming was allowed. Permission and notice are needed if you want to film in the COURTROOM, per the courts very own camera policy.
